Amazon data we process for our clients
Who this applies to. This section covers data that THIS WAY UP ONLINE LIMITED (“This Way Up”, “we”) accesses from Amazon for brand owners who use our marketplace management services (“clients”). We access this data through the Amazon Selling Partner API and the Amazon Ads API.
Authorisation. We only access a client’s Amazon data after the client authorises our application through Amazon’s consent process. Clients can withdraw that authorisation at any time in Seller Central.
Data we access. Brand Analytics reports (including sales and traffic by product, search query performance, market basket and repeat purchase data), orders and sales performance, inventory, financial events, advertising performance and aggregated Amazon Marketing Cloud insights. Our access is read only, and we do not collect personal information about Amazon customers.
Purpose. We use this data only to provide our contracted services to the client it belongs to. Those services are performance reporting, market and trend analysis, advertising management, and account and listing optimisation.
Sharing. We do not sell this data. We do not disclose it to third parties, or to other clients, or use it for the benefit of any other brand. We use a small number of trusted service providers to help us collect and securely store it, including Google Cloud Platform for hosting in the UK. They act only on our instructions and are bound by the same data protection standards.
Security. Data is stored in a private cloud data warehouse, encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted by role to the staff serving each client and protected by two-step verification. We handle this data in line with Amazon’s Data Protection Policy and Acceptable Use Policy, and with UK GDPR.
Retention and deletion. We keep client data for as long as our service agreement is in place. When an agreement ends, or when authorisation is withdrawn, we stop collecting data and delete it within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep it.
